Denton Archie Williams

	Denton Archie Williams, 82, of Vergennes, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2001 in DeSoto.
	Mr. Williams was a retired business person.  He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Vergennes.  He was a 50-year member of DeSoto Lodge $287, a member of Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Southern Illinois of Belleville, Ainad Shrine Temple of East St. Louis and was the active member of the Republican Party.
	He was born Friday, March 22, 1918 at Ava, the son of Denton H. and Bertha (Lively) Williams.  He married Naoma Mae Bradley on November 15, 1941 at Hoyleton and she preceded him in death on October 13, 1995.
	Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Robin Williams of DeSoto; two grandchildren, Erin Ruth Williams and Denton Lee Williams; one brother, Gale Williams of Murphysboro and one sister, Ruth Cottom of Galesburg.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Rita Diane Williams and three brothers, Floyd, Raymond and Glenn.
	Funeral services were Thursday, January 18 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vergennes with Rev. Bill Wiggs Jr. officiating.  Interment was in Parrish Cemetery at Vergennes.
	Visiting hours at Wilsons Funeral Home in Ava were after 5 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
	Masonic Services were held at the funeral home on January 17 at 7 p.m. 
	 Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church in Vergennes.
